About the event

Iboga & traditional Bwiti initiation: Q&A with initiates & students of Bwiti

What makes traditional Bwiti initiation different from an iboga ceremony?

And how can this ancient African spiritual tradition help us know ourselves, heal, and meet deep transformation?

Join us live as we explore the world of traditional Bwiti initiation, where iboga is just one of many spiritual tools used to support a profound journey.

We'll explore what happens during initiation (as much as we are permitted to share), the role of traditional masters, ritual and spiritual lineage, why the experience can be so challenging, and what changes people experience in their lives afterwards.

We'll also discuss the risks, preparation, integration, and what it means for Westerners to enter this living African tradition.

Join us live + bring your questions!

What we'll explore

  • What is traditional Bwiti initiation, and how is it different from an iboga ceremony?

  • Iboga is just one of many spiritual tools used during initiation. What are the others, and how do they work together?

  • What does it really mean to be initiated, and what changes can unfold afterwards?

  • What's the difference between Bwiti Missoko and Bwiti Dissoumba Fang?

  • Can Westerners genuinely participate in a traditional African spiritual lineage, and what does that relationship involve?

And more...

Who this is for

This is open to anyone who's curious about traditional uses of iboga, Bwiti and initiation, ancient approaches for transformation and healing, folks who are experienced with psychedelics, or considering initiation.
