ABOUT THE SPEAKER:

Monica Cromhout is an Astrologer and the founder of Somaland in Somerset West. She has facilitated more people through mushroom journeys than anyone else in South Africa that we are aware of.

She is a true elder in the space. Her home is a school for mushrooms. Particularly for the ones 'watching' / facilitating the experiences of the journeyers.

In 2014 she was arrested for holding ceremonies. Her court case formed the spearhead of the movement to legalize psilocybin in South Africa, which continues today.

Monica did not want us to include her name in the title for this talk. Not because she is afraid of any legal consequences (which she most certainly is not!), but because she does not like to take credit for any of the work that happens in her home with Soma Mushrooms. She is constantly reminding us that this work is not about her, nor the watchers, nor anyone else 'guiding the process'. It is about the one who is journeying, and their direct relationship to that which the mushroom connects us to.

Monica (much to her demise) is a treasure trove of wisdom, insights and war stories from her adventures with the mushroom.

We are honoured that she has agreed to speak with us and share some of what she has learned from working in this way for over 13 years now.
